The IEEE Robotics and Automation Society successfully conducted an Orientation Program for the first year on 07th November 2023 from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm in the Assembly Hall Main building and around 100 members attended the session.
The orientation program aimed to provide first-year students with foundational knowledge about the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society (RAS) and encourage them to actively participate in and contribute to the society. The event was hosted by Harshvardhan and Ramiza under the guidance of the core team community. The event began with the invitation of guest speakers Dr. Sriram Venkatesh, Dr. P. Chandrasekhar and Prof. Mallesham sir on to the dice. to the stage, creating an engaging atmosphere for the attendees.
The event was followed by a brief introduction to the IEEE Student Branch (SB) RAS was provided, outlining its mission, vision, and the benefits of being a part of society.
Mallesham Sir delivered an insightful speech, sharing his experiences and emphasizing the importance of RAS in the academic and professional development of students. The Vice Principal and Principal of UCEOU shared their perspectives on the significance of robotics and automation in the contemporary world. Recognition and appreciation were extended to the students of Batch 2021-2023 for their outstanding contributions and achievements within the RAS community.
A comprehensive PowerPoint presentation followed, covering the various activities, projects, and opportunities within the RAS. This presentation aimed to spark interest and enthusiasm among the new members. The RAS Chair delivered a motivating speech, discussing the future goals of the society, ongoing projects, and the collaborative spirit of RAS members.
A dedicated session allowed attendees to raise questions and seek clarification on various aspects of RAS, fostering an open and interactive environment.
The IEEE RAS orientation program proved to be a successful initiative in providing valuable insights into the world of robotics and automation. It not only offered a platform for the exchange of knowledge but also inspired the first-year students to actively engage with society. The event concluded on a positive note, setting the stage for the continuous growth and success of the IEEE RAS community at UCEOU.
