CodeGarage’s first Contest

The IEEE SB OUCE’s Computer Society, as a part of their flagship event – CodeGarage had conducted a contest on 6th of December, 2023. The main purpose of this contest was to familiarise the members with the process. The contest consisted of 2 rounds – an aptitude round and a coding round. The contest was attended by 50+ members. The aptitude round hosted 10 questions of easy level difficulty that tested the members on topics of probability, speed-distances, patterns, etc. The aptitude round was hosted on Unstop platform and the candidates were given 30 minutes to complete it. 7 members were able to correctly attempt all the questions while most of them were able to correctly answer 8-9 questions.

The next round was a coding round hosted on Hackerrank platform that had 3 easy level questions. The candidates were given the flexibility of choosing a programming language to
solve those problems. The round concluded in an hour. This round witnessed around 18 members who could successfully complete all the three coding questions while others mostly completed 2 questions.
In total the contest lasted 1.5 hours starting at 5:30 pm and lasting till 7 pm.

The top 3 contestants were awarded with cash prices of :
₹500 – First place
₹300 – Second place
₹200 – Third place
Overall the contest was a success with the participation of 50+ members and most of them successfully completing it. Towards the end of the sessions the brute force and optimal
solutions of the coding questions were also provided to the members
