technologies that are currently being implemented in the industries in the real world

Department of Electrical Engineering as a part of their technical symposium, Techsonance conducted a one-day workshop on GE products with experts from the GE industry. The session includes the speakers introducing SCADA, Energy management system, Operator training simulator, Energy markets, Distribution and Distributed energy resource management systems

Bala Sai Kiran, power systems software engineer at General Electric(GE) presented an instructive lecture, which gave insight to students on how the

electricity market actually works around the world. They explained about the fundamentals of the electricity market such as historical perspectives, market

participants and their roles, by giving examples of markets in Northern America, Europe and India. They further gave information about the key elements of electricity market i.e., demand and supply, which helped the students to understand the relation between the generating companies, transmission network owners and consumers.
