TECHSHALARTS – Event Report

TECHSHALARTS – Event Report

Event Overview
Techshalarts was one of the most creatively charged events conducted as part of TECHSONANCE 2026,
designed to bridge the gap between technical thinking and artistic expression. The event brought together
participants who could interpret engineering concepts not through equations, but through imagination,
communication, and visual storytelling. It was conducted over three engaging rounds that progressively
tested spontaneity, creativity, and conceptual clarity.
Event Details
Event Name: Techshalarts
Team Size: 3 members per team
Structure: 3 Rounds
Total Time per Round: 10 minutes per team
Nature: Creative + Technical Interpretation
Objective of the Event
The primary aim of Techshalarts was to:
 Encourage creative representation of technical concepts
 Enhance team coordination and communication
 Promote lateral thinking in engineering contexts
 Provide a fun, interactive environment beyond traditional quizzes
EVENT ROUNDS
Round 1: Mime
The first round set the tone for the event by removing verbal communication entirely.
Structure:
 One member from each team acted as the performer (mime).
 The remaining two members guessed the given word or concept.
Execution:
Participants were given technical or general words related to engineering concepts, tools, or phenomena.
The mime artist had to communicate the idea purely through gestures and expressions.
Key Highlights:
 Tested non-verbal communication skills
 Encouraged interpretation of abstract concepts
 Created a lively and engaging atmosphere
Round 2: Pictionary
This round shifted from physical expression to visual communication.
Structure:
 One member acted as the drawer
 Two members attempted to guess the drawing
Rules:
 No verbal hints allowed
 Only sketches could be used to convey the concept
Execution:
Participants were given technical or semi-technical terms which had to be illustrated within a limited
time. The guessing team members had to decode the drawing accurately.
Key Highlights:
 Encouraged visualization of engineering concepts
 Tested clarity of thought and representation

 Required quick interpretation skills
Round 3: Letter Reveal Challenge (Final Round)
The final round acted as the decisive stage.
Structure:
 A question with missing letters was presented
 Clues were provided to guide participants
 Letters of the answer were revealed gradually
Rules:
 Teams could attempt answers at any stage
 Negative marking applied for incorrect answers
Execution:
This round combined analytical thinking with risk management. Teams had to decide whether to wait for
more letters or attempt early for a competitive advantage.
Key Highlights:
 Introduced strategic decision-making
 Tested conceptual understanding
 Increased excitement due to uncertainty
Participant Engagement and Response
The event received enthusiastic participation, with teams actively engaging in all rounds. The progression
from mime to drawing to analytical guessing ensured variety and sustained interest throughout.
Participants appreciated:
 The unique combination of art and engineering
 The dynamic and interactive format
 The opportunity to think beyond conventional problem-solving
Outcome and Conclusion
Techshalarts successfully achieved its objective of merging creativity with technical thinking. The event
not only provided entertainment but also highlighted the importance of communication and visualization
in engineering fields.
It stood out as a refreshing deviation from purely technical competitions, reinforcing the idea that
innovation often lies at the intersection of logic and creativity.
