“The interviews were conducted in offline mode and ADP recruiters visited our campus. This round was a Technical Round – 1. The interviewer introduced himself and I was told to introduce myself. I spoke about myself and my hobbies. I told him that I was a Technology Enthusiast and he was very keen about it. He asked me to speak few words about the latest technologies that I have read or worked with.
He started asking questions about the projects that I have done. He asked how proficient I was in each technology. I replied I was good with basics and I took some reference from online in completing the project. My project was Student Attendance Automation System. This involved marking the attendance of a student by detecting the barcode on Student ID card using Webcam. Various cross questions were asked about the technologies I have used. I used MongoDB, Express and NodeJS to build my project.
I was asked why did I use Git in my project. I replied saying I used it for creating multiple branches of my code so that any further changes would not affect my previous functional code.
He told me to explain what I have done at my internships and what I learnt during that period of time.
I was asked about my Favourite subject and I replied saying DBMS. He asked about Codd’s Rules.
• I was asked to write a SQL Query to display the details of the employees who received the Highest salary from each department. I wrote it as a Correlated subquery.
• There is a Linked List and we have to find the middle element or elements (in case of Even number of Nodes) by traversing the linked list just once.
• He told me to explain Binary insertion sort.
He also asked about my extracurricular activities. He asked what contribution I made to each of them.
The interviewer may try to argue saying that what you have said is wrong. You review your answer once and if you feel like there is nothing wrong in it then be confident and take your stand. He may try to confuse you but be confident about what you know and NEVER lie about what you know. The interviewers are not fools to believe whatever you say and write in your resume. Be true to Yourself.”
“I was immediately informed that I was selected for the next round. This round was Technical Round – 2. I took a 5 min break and went for the next round. The interviewer introduced himself and asked me to do the same. He was very friendly and polite. He had a working experience of 17 years in ADP.
He started by asking about OOPS concepts. What is the difference between Abstraction and Encapsulation. Explain using a Real-life Scenario. He asked me about Binary insertion sort, Merge Sort and Quick sort. He gave me an example scenario and asked which sort would be more suitable and why? I made a comparison between Quick and Merge sorts and explained my answer in-depth.
He asked me some questions about my Project and what made me do this project. He asked what are the limitations of my project and how they can be removed. He wanted to know whether I was interested to learn more and more. I said I wanted to use Retina scan for authenticating each student and to avoid Fake Attendances. He gave me some suggestions on how to implement this idea. He was supportive.
He asked about my family background. I spoke few words about my Family and the things I learnt from them.
He asked whether I had any questions for him. I asked about his experience at ADP. He said he really like ADP. Him being at the same company for 17 years speaks a lot about that company and its values. I asked him to give some suggestions for a fresher like me. He said what I was doing was good enough but keep doing this consistently and you will be fine.
He said the HR will be talking to you soon and the interview ended.”
This round was a HR round. The interviewer introduced herself and asked me to do the same. She was friendly and very nice to me. She asked how much I know about ADP. She spoke few words about the company and the kind of work they do. She asked me about my hobbies and any recent interesting activities I have done. “• You can’t learn everything in a day or two. Learning is a gradual process. Consistency is the key to learn.
• Be yourself. Be confident about what you have learnt.
• Attitude matters. Knowing everything is not important. They want people who are ready to learn and who are curious about how things work. They want people who actively participate.
• Making mistakes is common and a key step to get things done right. Make mistakes and Learn from them.
• Try to learn something new every day irrespective of whether it is related to your subject or not.”
