On November 16th, 2024, the IEEE Computer Society, IEEE SB OUCE hosted Codefest 2024, a mini hackathon promoting collaboration and innovation among 2nd and 3rd-year students. Held in the CSE Seminar Hall, teams of one 2nd-year and one 3rd-year student worked on problem statements of varying difficulty. Participants had two hours to develop
solutions, followed by presentations to the judges. The main aim of the event was to develop solutions in a timed environment with focus on learning new technologies.
The problem statements focussed on web scraping with analysis using power bi, URL shortening, Travel destination recommendation(ML) and a basic functional LMS with different roles- user and admin.
Judges Tanmay Subhedar, Ravikumar Dobbali and Karteek Tadimalla evaluated teams on the following metrics– functionality, innovation, teamwork, and presentation. Inclusive participation was encouraged by pairing students without teams. Prizes, including certificates and cash rewards, were awarded to the top three teams.
With a registration fee of ₹50 per person, Codefest 2024 drew enthusiastic participants and provided a platform to hone technical skills and foster teamwork. The event’s success showcased the IEEE Computer Society’s dedication to nurturing talent and creativity among students.
