Applications were filtered based on resume, certifications and the role we applied(upto my knowledge). Some people did not get the chance to appear for genC next assessment.
Recruitment process had 3 Rounds.
First round(180min): Online assessment-> 2 sections.
1st section(40min): MCQs on oops, data structures & algorithms (don’t get scared they are basic questions), SQL & database, Html & CSS(basic).
2nd section(140min): 4 coding questions and 2 SQL queries.
4 coding questions (answer atleast two)
->1st and 2nd were on arrays(50min).
->3rd was on trees and 4th was on dynamic programming(50min).
2 SQL queries were really tough(40min)(need not consider SQL much because they did not evaluate us on that)
Second round: Technical interview.
Interviewer had a quick overview on resume.
Self intro
Followed by these questions:
difference between C and java(c and java were mentioned in resume)
Exception handling in java.
Collections in java
Coding question:
Given an array take the last digit of each element and form a number and check for its divisibility by 10
HTML & CSS usage(like buttons, event handling etc)
Project->what components I used, what is Arduino etc.
latest technologies (ml, ai, web services).
Since I applied for java developer role he asked me about spring boot
What would I do if I was directly deployed into a project without any training.
Tell me something which reflect your team work capabilities.
Third round: HR interview
Just document verification was done and that’s it
Assessment was on 14th August
Tr was on 30th August
Hr was on 7th September
Internship offer letter received on 17th November
SUGGESTIONS:
Do some certifications on java or python or whatever the programming language and some certifications on HTML CSS JAVASCRIPT
Learn about latest technologies like ml, ai, AWS, blockchain(not all atleast one)
If you are applying for
-> java developer role learn about spring (basic)
-> python developer role learn about (django, numpy etc)
Try to choose java or python developer roles as some of my friends who chose roles related to c,c++ were not selected for genC next role.
Just clear the assessment you’ll be placed in cognizant(either genC next or genC elevate)
Finally if you have don’t any knowledge about the question asked tell the interviewer that you don’t know about it

Third round: HR round
I had cleared the first round. In which three sections were there MCQ based on Role u have selected for which I had selected for Advanced Python developer.
In the next section, coding questions were given.
It consists of 4 questions.
Out of 4 two were easy and medium level remaining questions are based on dsa.
And final section was based on SQL(2questions)
After 10-15 days I had received a mail regarding the TR round
In this 4-5 questions were asked which includes sql and coding problems also basics of machine learning and artificial intelligence.
And some questions were based on the project.
After 7 Days I got mail for the HR round where they just asked for documents and verification.

Process
Register for genc next on superset platform. Skill based assessment will be conducted after shortlisting.
Sections are – mcqs with cs fundamentals and web dev basics (no apti). Two programming sections consisting of two coding questions each (medium level). one section with two sql query questions.
The questions I remember are related to the topics of lazy caterers sequence & longest common subsequence
Based on performance you will be selected for interviews . Again based on performance in interviews you’ll be selected for either genc next or genc elevate. During the application process for genc next you’ll get a chance to pick your domain. I chose Data science.
Coming to interviews – there will be 2 rounds. one Technical and another HR.
In technical interview I was asked the following questions
1. Basic introduction
2. why cognizant and why did I choose data science and some stuff related to the field like life cycle of data science project etc.
3. constructor syntax ( I wrote it in python)
4. about my projects and questions related to them. My project was based on Linear regression, so they asked about it.
5. SQL DDL commands syntax
6. Sql – how do you find duplicates in a particular column
7. Factorial program in Java
8. Say you commit a huge mistake in your project. what would you do?
HR interview
They only asked to show the proofs of aadhar, pan, 10th marksheet . They asked if we knew any foreign languages and If we were okay to do internship in 8th semester . Nothing else.
