The IEEE OUCE Student Branch conducted its first meeting with all the newly selected organizers of different societies at 4:45 pm on 12th October 2022, at the Seminar Hall of the CSE Department.
In this meeting, we got a chance to meet our fellow organizers. We get to know each other through this meeting which builds our connection with our departments. After a healthy interaction, the IEEE Chair Mr Gaurav Krishna spoke about the activities that organizers need to do in the academic year. He described the roles and responsibilities that need to be taken as an organizer of the IEEE. He gave a better view on being a responsible organizer.
The main purpose of the meeting is to detail about Volunteer Drive that is going to happen in a few weeks for the second-year students. So he asked all the organizers to form groups within their respective departments in order to pitch their views and ideas to the second-year students about IEEE. He insisted organisers give the core members a demo before actual promotion for betterment. He selected three organizers and gave them the responsibility of monitoring the promotions for all the departments and giving updates to the core members. He then asked to design a poster for the Volunteer Drive and a form through which students can apply.
Then the IEEE Vice Chair Mr Ramakrishna gave clarity about the interviews that should be conducted by the organizers and he also insisted on a way to evaluate the interview round. He shared his experiences in conducting the interviews with the juniors and he asked organizers to come up with some ideas for the interview round. He mentioned that all the organizers will be divided into different panels for conducting a hassle-free interview round.
The meeting with the new organizers of the IEEE Student Branch OUCE ended with many beneficial things as the organizers were not just able to connect with each other but also get to know about different events on which we will be working.
