Date: 21st November 2024
Venue: Room no. 210, Department of CSE, UCEOU

On November 21, 2024, the newly appointed organizers of the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society for the academic year 2024-25 conducted their inaugural session for second-year students in Room No. 210, Department of CSE, UCEOU. The session focused on the L298N motor driver and the first part of sensors, aiming to build foundational knowledge in robotics for the attendees.
The session began with an introduction to the L298N motor driver, highlighting its significance in addressing the limitations of using Arduino alone to control motors. The organizers elaborated on the logic and coding required to operate motor drivers effectively, providing attendees with both theoretical and practical insights.
The session then transitioned to a detailed explanation of sensors, covering the working principles of various types, including LDR (Light Dependent Resistor), ultrasonic sensor, IR sensor, motion sensor, and gas sensor. Each sensor’s functionality, applications, and integration with Arduino systems were discussed, ensuring a comprehensive understanding for the participants.
Feedback from attendees indicated that the session was well-received, with most respondents expressing positive impressions in the feedback form. The interactive discussions and the clarity of explanations contributed to the session’s success, making it a promising start for the society’s activities under the new organizers.
This session served as a strong foundation for students to delve deeper into robotics concepts and apply the knowledge in practical projects in the future.
