A one-hour lecture on Stepping into Successful Career-Strategies was given by Prof. V. Uma Maheshwar, Associate Professor, Mechanical department upon the request by Prof. G. Mallesham, HOD of Electrical Engineering Department. Prof. G. Mallesham introduced sir and then along with Dr. B. Mangu, also a professor of EED, felicitated Prof. Uma Maheshwar.
Prof. Uma Maheshwar started the lecture with introduction of what electrical energy is, how it is useful, what are all the applications of it. He then explained what are all the different fields available in the course of Electrical and Electronics Engineering like software engineering, signal processing, control systems, power electronics etc. He explained different possible positions present in industry for a student of EEE like electrical engineer, electronics engineer etc. and what are the different core companies present.
He encouraged everyone to pursue their passion whatever field it might be technical or non-technical giving examples of P.V. Sindhu, as she banged her 1st gold in world championship ,by her continuous efforts, on the 3rd attempt, Harsha Bogle of how he became a commentator after completing his MBA in IIM and few other examples of such.
And then he explained how to face interviews, what are the things interviewer expects to find in the candidate in order to recruit like team work, leadership skills, time management, IT skills, etc. He concluded the lecture by wishing everyone best for their futures.
