The IEEE Computer Society, IEEE SB OUCE, hosted an insightful session, “Beyond the Books: From Campus to Corporate”, aimed at bridging the gap between academic life and the professional world. Held from 4 to 6 PM at the CSE Seminar Hall, the event featured three recently placed fourth-year students: Keerthana from Deloitte, Srinija J and Keshav from Oracle, and Lokesh and Siddarth from Ennea Solutions The panellists shared their experiences at OUCE, highlighting how campus life shaped their personal and professional growth. They discussed their transition into the corporate world, emphasising the importance of balancing studies with skill development, particularly in Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) and software development. They also shared how internships, projects, and certifications played a key role in gaining practical experience and enhancing job prospects. The session concluded with advice on persistence, continuous learning, and networking. An interactive Q&A allowed students to directly engage with the speakers and gain valuable insights. “Beyond the Books” successfully provided practical guidance to help students prepare for their career journeys from campus to corporate life.
