E-ENIGMA – Event Report

E-ENIGMA – Event Report

Event Overview
E-Enigma was conceptualized as a rigorous technical quiz event under TECHSONANCE 2026, aimed at
evaluating participants’ understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals and their ability to apply
concepts under pressure. Unlike conventional quizzes that rely purely on memory recall, E-Enigma was
structured to progressively challenge participants through multiple layers of difficulty, incorporating
speed, accuracy, and analytical depth.
Conducted over three rounds, the event created a competitive yet intellectually stimulating environment
where participants were required to demonstrate both breadth and depth of knowledge. The event
attracted students with a strong inclination towards core electrical concepts, making it one of the more
technically intensive competitions of the fest.
Event Details:
 Event Name: E-Enigma
 Type: Technical Quiz Competition
 Registration Fee: ₹299
 Prize Pool: ₹1500
 Eligibility: Students with foundational knowledge of electrical engineering
 Structure: 3 Rounds (Progressive Difficulty)
Objective of the Event:
The event was designed with the following objectives:
 To assess participants’ understanding of electrical engineering principles
 To encourage application-based thinking rather than rote learning
 To promote competitive technical engagement among students
 To improve response speed and decision-making under pressure
Round-wise Execution
Round 1: Aptitude Round
The first round served as an entry-level screening stage.
Format:
 Basic conceptual and aptitude-based questions
 No negative marking
Execution:
Participants were presented with a series of questions covering:
 Fundamental electrical concepts
 Basic circuit analysis
 General engineering aptitude
The absence of negative marking encouraged participants to attempt all questions confidently.
Purpose:
 To filter participants based on fundamental understanding
 To ensure inclusivity by allowing all participants to engage without risk
Round 2: Buzzer Round
The second round introduced speed and competition.
Format:
 Advanced-level questions
 Buzzer-based answering system
 Second-stage eliminations

Execution:
Participants had to respond quickly to questions by activating the buzzer. Only the fastest team got the
opportunity to answer.
Key Challenges:
 High pressure due to time constraints
 Risk of incorrect attempts affecting progress
 Need for quick recall and confidence
Purpose:
 To test reaction time and confidence
 To identify participants with strong conceptual clarity
Round 3: Quiz Round (Final Round)
The final round was designed to test in-depth knowledge.
Format:
 Advanced conceptual questions
 Negative marking applied
Execution:
Questions in this round required:
 Multi-step reasoning
 Application of core electrical theories
 Interpretation of problem statements
Teams had to balance accuracy with risk, as incorrect answers resulted in penalties.
Purpose:
 To evaluate depth of understanding
 To identify top-performing teams based on precision and knowledge
Participant Engagement
Participants actively engaged across all rounds, with visible enthusiasm during the buzzer round due to its
fast-paced nature. The final round, while challenging, was appreciated for its focus on real conceptual
understanding rather than superficial knowledge.
Outcome and Conclusion:
E-Enigma successfully fulfilled its objective of being a technically enriching event. It provided a platform
for students to test their academic knowledge in a competitive setting, while also encouraging deeper
engagement with core electrical subjects.
The event stood out for its structured progression and balanced evaluation, making it a valuable addition
to TECHSONANCE 2026.
