The IEEE OUCE Robotics and Automation Society organized its first session for newly joined first-year members on November 26th, 2024, at the CSE Seminar Hall. This session served as an ice-breaking event aimed at bridging the gap between seniors and juniors, fostering a healthy and interactive environment within the society.
The event commenced with introductions from the organizers and core committee members, who shared insights into their roles and experiences. Following this, each first-year student introduced themselves, adding a personal touch by sharing a fact, hobby, or talent, which helped create an engaging and friendly atmosphere.
To further enhance interaction, students were handed numbered chits (1-30), with each number corresponding to a unique question or dare. This activity was met with enthusiasm, as participants eagerly took on the challenges, making the session lively and enjoyable.
The event also featured a short quiz, where winners were rewarded with goodies, adding a competitive yet fun element to the gathering.
The session concluded with a discussion about the plans and goals for robotics during the students’ tenure in the society. This interactive and dynamic event left the first-year members motivated and excited about contributing to the field of robotics and being active members of the IEEE OUCE Robotics and Automation Society.
