IEEE Signal Processing Society Student Branch of Osmania University successfully organized Avishkar 2.0 on 28th April 2025 as a one-day technical design and prototype-building competition aimed at encouraging innovation, creativity, and practical engineering skills among students. Around 60 participants, divided into multiple teams, actively took part in designing and demonstrating functional prototypes in electronics and embedded systems. The event provided students with an opportunity to transform their ideas into working models while gaining hands-on experience in project execution, teamwork, and technical presentations.
Participants were instructed to submit their PowerPoint presentations before the deadline, following the guidelines of a maximum of 10 slides and a duration of 5–10 minutes. The event began at 9:00 AM with registration and a welcome session, followed by the distribution of components. From 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, teams worked on prototype development using provided components and personal resources. After lunch, PPT presentations and live demonstrations were conducted before a panel of faculty members and IEEE coordinators.
Projects showcased included IoT-based monitoring systems, smart home automation, automatic irrigation systems, and gesture-controlled devices. Teams were evaluated on Prototype, Execution, Innovation, and Presentation skills. The atmosphere throughout the event was highly interactive, competitive, and innovative, with students demonstrating excellent technical understanding and creativity.
The event concluded with a valedictory session and prize distribution ceremony. Avishkar 2.0 proved to be a successful platform for students to explore real-world engineering solutions, enhance practical knowledge, and develop confidence in prototype building and technical presentation skills.
